To start the day, the morning was very busy and full of energy. Jacob and Weedy had a massive wedding party with over 14 people! That is a lot of bridesmaids and groomsmen to keep track of. Before Jacob could see his bride, he had to pass the “gatecrash” test. This is a fun tradition where the groom proves his love by finishing silly challenges.
The bridesmaids were very creative with their games. First, they made the groomsmen try to eat marshmallows hanging from a bamboo pole while wearing blindfolds. It looked like a funny dance! Next, they served a “special” breakfast: kaya toast topped with chopped chili and garlic. Yuck! Finally, the guys had to try difficult yoga poses together. After the games were finished, it was time for the most important part of the day. The couple chose to have their ceremony at Cornerstone Community Church. This is one of the coolest Singapore wedding venues because it used to be an old cinema theatre!
The church looked amazing. Because it was once a movie theater, the red carpet and the long aisle made the entrance feel like a royal event. When the doors opened, Jacob’s face lit up with a huge smile. He looked so happy to see Weedy walking toward him with her father.
In addition to the beautiful music, the pastor said a special prayer to bless their new life together. As wedding videographers, we made sure to record the sound of their vows perfectly. A photo is great, but hearing the shake in someone’s voice when they say “I do” is pure magic.
Natural Beauty at East Coast Park
Once the ceremony ended, the celebration moved outdoors. We traveled to the Bougainvillea Garden at East Coast Park for a scenic photoshoot. The bright pink flowers and the green trees provided a perfect background for the couple and their 14 friends.
